Monster Energy Releases A New Episode Of ‘Earn Your Stripes’ – BMX in Berlin -

December 16th, 2010

The Monster European BMX Generals, along with London-based Monster Captain Tian Moses, hit up Berlin to film the next episode of Earn Your Stripes; insane riding, the Extreme Playgrounds, parties and the odd Bavarian market were high on the agenda.

December 16th, 2010, London — Monster Energy Europe and the Monster Army launch the third episode of ‘Earn Your Stripes’, a digital film project showcasing the action sports talent from the Monster Army and their passion for a kick-ass goodtime.

Monster BMX Generals Harry Main, Alex Coleborn, Ben Wallace and Pat Guimez headed to Berlin to hook up with Monster Captain Tian Moses. Surrounded by Europe’s top BMX riders, the onus was on Tian to show his ability to shred the park by day and party hard by night.

And despite Harry rocking a newly acquired broken hand, snow delaying Alex for 48 hours, Pat’s bike being MIA [courtesy of KLM] and the majority of Berlin’s top riding spots resembling a winter snowpark, the Monster Army powered on, testing the limits of Tian and some of the local Monster Reserves at Berlin’s best riding spots and party locations.

The Extreme Playgrounds is an epic action sports event and the crew was on hand to support Monster’s newest General, Alex Coleborn. Typically Alex partied all night and on no-sleep, busted out some of the most technical BMX tricks on the planet to win best Trick and scoring 3rd place in the overall comp.

Heading out to sample all Berlin had to offer, the crew hit the streets with Alex’s prize purse burning a hole in his pocket. When Gluvein, Bratwursts and knitted jumpers weren’t cutting it amongst the Army, Tian took it further and spying a cable base jump, launched himself off Berlin’s tallest hotel. His whole approach to the weekend, his riding, partying, oh and throwing himself off a 125m building, well and truly earned him his stripes from the Monster Army.

Freestyle Motocross has been a sensation in the US for years thanks to X Games making it one of its biggest show pieces. Legends of the sport, including our very own Nate Adams, have shot to worldwide acclaim by doing the sort of thing on a bike that involves backflips whilst basically parting company with it in mid air. Quite frankly, the coolest way of riding two wheels and kicking off the party at full blast.

Newly crowned X-Fighters champion Nate (USA) leads a group of international legends and will be riding with Edgar Torronteras (ESP), Remi Bizouard (FRA) plus fellow countryman Adam Jones. With multiple X Games medals between them expect nothing less than the guys tearing open the night sky with noise and insane tricks.
